Ori and the Blind Forest

I keep forgetting to post about this. I shouldn’t be forgetting because it’s actually pretty cool. And creepy. It might sound like a bunch of mumble jumble to you but I know my youngest brother will get a kick out of it.

My full name is Orianah but everyone calls me Ori and I have yet to meet anyone with that name which is fine by me. I like having a unique name. I used to hate it. I think I went a full two years in grade school wishing and praying my name would be Emily. Thank God that didn’t happen. Emily’s are for blonde girls with stick straight hair. I’ve always gone for more of a Merida from Brave look.

maxresdefaultMy youngest brother [Logan] has been calling me Zelda for as long as I can remember. I think he was maybe 5 (or 10?) when he started doing it. At some point in my teenage life, I heard that Zelda was a video game. It was like an “aha!” moment. I don’t think Logan got it from that but if he did, he was far more advanced than I ever was at that age.

Fast-forward a bit, Channing told me there is a new video game out that had my name in it the other week. Even though I love him oh so much, I didn’t believe him so I had to use the ol’ Google machine to see it for myself and check it..he was right. Ori and the Blind Forest. What in the hell? It’s pretty sweet though, I like the way it looks. Florecenty-blue and a japeniseish style font. I’m pretty sure these are in no way connected but it reminds me of peace and Buddha. Weird, I know.

So, I went to the website and checked out the ‘About’ page just to see what kind of game it was. I’m not really into video games so it didn’t really matter to me either way. Once in a blue moon, I find one I like but Netflix is kind of my fix. I can list all the games I’ve ever loved on three fingers; Oddworld, Crash Bandicoot, and Guitar Hero – all played on Playstation. Other than that, you can probably assume on counting me out.

Kind of made me feel famous in my own little world.
